What the kids got themselves into!!!

So  JaJa and Airborne Eagle are both working on raising money for two different causes.  Airborne and his Young Marine Unit is doing the

walk for a cure for Juvenile diabetes. .  This year, Airborne Eagle will be taking part in JDRF’s Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with

one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $105 million.

Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people – a large and growing percentage of them children.

There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime!

Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference.  Together, we can make the cure a reality!

Just  go to www.walk.jdrg.org put first and last name and how much you would like to donate.

JaJa is on the Relay for life team.

My Reason to Relay

I Relay because I want to see an end to cancer during my lifetime. Relay gives me the unique opportunity to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission by fighting back against a disease that has already taken too much.

Please support my efforts to fight back against cancer by making a donation or joining my Relay For Life® team.

Your efforts will help the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking cancer research, provide up-to-date cancer information, advocate for all people to have access to screening and treatment, and offer free programs and services to improve the quality of life for people facing cancer. By being a part of Relay, we are joining a worldwide movement to help defeat cancer for future generations.

You can donate to JaJa’s team (< click on JaJa’s team)

Thank you for your support!!!!

School Starts on Monday!!!!!!

January 4, 2009 by Earthroamer

So can you tell how happy I am.  I think we seem to be the only state that closes the district  for snow.  I do hope schools stay open and  the kids all go.  I Love my children but we had 2 weeks of Christmas break, 1 week out for snow, and 2 weeks of sick kids.  People ask me why I make a drink called Dark Charlotte.

We had a very good Christmas everyone was feeling good and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say everyone all got what they wanted.  Well Mom and Dad you’ll love it when it comes.  I’ll try and post our snow photos later.

Thanksgiving was just yesterday

December 16, 2008 by Earthroamer

Am I alone on this? It seems as though we just had Thanksgiving.  We had such a good time at Carla and Mark’s house. We had all the usual  Thanksgiving things and of course they were delicious if I do say so myself.  After we stuffed our selves silly we tried guitar hero, uuummm I’ll stick with I tried. Crazy Black Friday shopping JaJa Sunshine thought she had what it would take to start the shopping day at 5:30 and let me tell you it went down hill pretty quick after hearing  “we’re not buying that it’s not on sale” 5 times she was done!!!!  It was still a good time we got some deals.

What Happened????

September 12, 2008 by Earthroamer

Boy I don’t know what happened to the time..  I thought that when school started I would have all this time to hang out clean the house.  But for some reason I have not had that down time yet. I know poor poor Carri;  don’t worry about me I will survive. ( who’s singing ?)  Between one in track and one in the young marines, and Mr. Happy wants to do a sport so  we seem to have no time.  Now we have homework and tired kids to deal with.  You gotta love um.

We have to stand like what????

We have to stand like what????

Labor Day

Labor Day

We did have a back to school party with our normal (well maybe not normal) group. None the less it’s our group.  it’s always good times whenever we get together.

Two other women of “the group” are M.I.A.  But we don’t hold grudges….. or do we?

The men tended the fire. What brave men we have.  8 kids with pointy sticks, trying to cook hot dogs and only 3 men.  We had 2 men M.I.A. also well for that matter we had 3 other children that had to stay behind and get ready for school the next day. HHHUUUHHHHUUU  I mean how sad, We missed you guys.

Utah, Not what I thought!

August 20, 2008 by Earthroamer

We went to Utah last week and it was not at all what I thought it would be like.  I guess I knew it was desert but for some reason I thought there would be more trees.  It does have it’s own beauty that you know Utah for and now I know what Utah looks like.  We did so many fun things while in Utah.  We got to see family, ride the train, swam in the Olympic pool, floated in the Great Salt Lake, visited local parks and museums.  It was very interesting to learn the state history.  What made me laugh was to think of the religious leaders that  had involvement in the development of the state as well as the miners that started towns.  That would be a fun town meeting. I have posted some photos of our trip. Thank you to my darling cousin who opened up her home to us and put up with us for a week.  I have lost your email so if you would like any photos of all the fun you need to email me.

SUMMER IS BEST

August 1, 2008 by Earthroamer

I Love summer!!!! I love how everyone is willing to get together on long summer days. It’s so much fun to see all the kids growing up together. The only thing is when kids grow up together like ours have they fell comfortable enough to fight each other like brothers and sisters. But it is still fun going on all the different outings we do on Monday.

so we have picked a lot of berries. We got salmon berries, Thimble berries, Black cap raspberries. We have not had time to go berry picking properly; so we have just gotten what berries we have on our property. It has not been a lot so I am just freezing them until I get enough to make something.

We have been getting ready for our trip to Utah. We had to get a new car so I didn’t take our only working car out of town. After all how will my husband make me the money if he can’t get to work!! My mom has not called me back to break the news to her about what kind of car we got. It’s Good thing my parents are so understanding. We tried Chevy’s but the back seatbelt went a crossed the boys necks, so we felt that wasn’t safe. But we do like our new car even if GM didn’t make it, it’s still American!!

Berry Picking

July 4, 2008 by Earthroamer

Okay am I the only one that is having a hard time waiting for all the wonderful berries to come out? I was in denial when we went hiking and all the salmonberries where out. I thought for some reason that thimbleberries came first so I only let the kids have a few of them. Now we are trying just to get enough for syrup. We have them in the freezer for when we get enough. I told the kids maybe we could wait for thimbleberries and raspberries to make razzelberry pie. If anyone finds a good place to go to pick berries that has enough berries your willing to share – hook me up!!!

These are pictures of our Monday class hiking.

Show and tell

June 25, 2008 by Earthroamer

My Ja Ja is a good photographer. She always wants to take off with my camera and take some off the wall pictures. Me still being stuck in develop everything and hope you get lucky phase, I typically tell her no. But this is one of the reasons we wanted a digital camera; I try to let go of the space on my memory card and let the kids take their own pictures. Some of them really surprised me. So I thought I would post them for all to see. I am not sure how long they will stay on my camera or on the computer before I ever get them printed. I thought this would be the best bet that they would be out there.
